2018 WINTER PROGRAMS

Looking to take your game to the next level or are you just starting the game? Either way, we offer programs all year that will help you develop into a more complete lacrosse player. Maineiax takes great pride in giving you some of the best coaching in Maine with multiple college coaches, elite high school coaches, and college players on staff to help you grow your game all fall and winter. Players within each program will be grouped by age and skill level. We promote a fun and positive learning environment while helping you get ready for your spring school season. 

Program Notes:

  • Maineiax does not prorate the cost for a missed practice or for not being able to participate in a full program. 
  • Maineiax reserves the right to change a program at any point or move players to a different program during the session based on skill level and/or attendance numbers. 
  • US Lacrosse membership is required for all players for insurance and liability purposes, no exceptions.

SKILLS & DRILLS

Our Skills & Drills program is for players to work on improving their fundamentals in the off-season.  The focus will be on improving players stick work by working on both hands with lots of reps and individual feedback. Players will also work on effective dodging, competitive ground balls & 50/50’s, creative shooting, defensive positioning and footwork, goalie positioning and more. All skill levels are welcome. Recommended for all and intermediate players.

LACROSSE ACADEMY - PORTLAND

Tuesdays or Sundays @ the MAC (6th-12th grades)

Our Lacrosse Academy is one of our most popular programs! This program is designed to help you improve the most important parts of your game: speed training, stick skills, and game awareness! Players will spend the hour rotating through three stations to work on stick work routines, speed and agility and participating in live games on the field. It is an exciting hour of lacrosse to help improve your overall game and fitness! Players will be grouped by age and skill level.

February 13 – March 27 (7 wks) $175

LAX ACADEMY - SACO

Thursdays @ the OA Sports Center (15 Lund Road, Saco)
9th-12th grades
Limited to 25 players each session!

Our 6-week Lacrosse Academy in Saco is designed to help you improve your strength and speed with professionals while enhancing your stick skills with our coaches! Players will spend the first hour at the Parisi Speed School, working on footwork and increasing speed! Then players will move over to the enhanced wall at the Hitters Count to work on new stick work routines to help improve their overall game! This program is limited to 25 players due to space; only paid players have a spot! If signing up for both sessions, you must fill out both registrations below.

Thursdays 7:00-9:00 pm (1st hour at Parisi Speed School & 2nd hour at Hitters Count on wall)
February 15 – March 29 (6 wks) $250
*No practice on Feb. 22 due to vacation* 

WINTER FREEZE COLLEGE COACHES CLINIC

Sundays 4:00-7:00 pm @ the Dome (9th-12th grades)
January 7 – January 28 (4 wks), $250
Or choose 1 week $65, 2 weeks $130, 3 weeks $195

Join us for a 4-week clinic with some of the top college coaches from DI, DII & DIII! Each week guest college coaches will work with players on Skills & Drills, Lax Academy stations and coach them during live games. We will have at least two college coaches each week who will work with the group on stickwork, game awareness and technical aspects of the game. Following the practice, the weekly session will end with a 3o-minute College Search Q&A to help answer any general recruiting questions. This is a new and exciting Maineiax clinic that will help you prepare for your spring season and not to be missed!

Players can register for all 4 weeks or choose 1 week only. The college coaches in attendance will be (subject to change):

WORLD CUP

Sundays @ the MAC and Dome

Our most popular program of the year! 8 weeks of strict league play designed to get you ready for the spring season! Players will be assigned to a country team for the duration of the program. Each team will play one 45 minute game each Sunday with a referee (high school teams will have one bye week.) Playoffs will be the last Sunday to determine winners! 1st, 2nd & 3rd place teams will be named with the winner being given the World Cup Trophy! This program is limited to 10 high school teams and 6 middle school teams so first come, first serve. Players must be registered and paid in full in order to reserve their roster spot. 

February 4 – March 25
Middle School World Cup (6th-8th grades) – Sundays 2:00-4:00 pm @ the MAC
High School World Cup (9th-12th grades) – Sundays 4:00-7:00 pm @ the Dome

HS LEAGUE & LEADERSHIP TRAINING

Sundays 5:30-7:00 pm @ the Dome (9th-12th grades)

Our high school players will play a full field live game in the first hour and then spend 30 minutes on leadership development. This program is designed to help get players stick and stamina in top shape before the spring season! Players will spend the first hour playing a live game with high-intensity reps, lots of touches with the ball and fast-paced action on the field while also working on speed, stick skills, and game awareness. The last 30 minutes will be spent on leadership development discussing how to be a good teammate, successful ways to lead a team, how to develop strong character in various situations, how to problem solve and handle adversity, effective player/coach communication and goal setting. This exciting hour of play and a half hour of an empowerment summit is not to be missed for our high school leaders!

MIDDLE SCHOOL LEAGUE

Sundays @ the MAC (6th-8th grades)

Our Middle School League is designed to help get players stick and stamina in top shape before the spring season! Players will spend the hour playing a live game and they will get high intensity, lots of touches with the ball and fast-paced action on the field! This program is an opportunity to get live game experience while working on speed, stick skills, and game awareness. We will break players up into teams based on age and skill level. Don’t miss this fun hour of lacrosse!

World Cup games will also be played outdoors and/or indoors at Bates College for three Sundays.
